Paediatric Intermediate Life Support
Overview
PILS aims to provide resuscitation training for all those healthcare providers who care for children, but are not usually members of a resuscitation team. Candidates are trained to recognise and manage critically ill children and children in cardiorespiratory arrest whilst awaiting the arrival of a resuscitation team (1 to 5 minutes) and to provide further support once the team arrives.
Who is it for?
The PILS course if for medical staff wanting to expand and increase their medical knowledge. Common participants include: doctors, senior nurses and ambulance staff.
